Make Your Own V-8 Juice

Good Morning!

For all you V-8 juice lovers out there – forget the canned stuff, and make your own! Not only have most canned products proven to be unhealthy for us (with all the nasty BPAs and heavy metals leaching from inside the can), it’s fast and easy and a whole lot healthier to create your own recipe.

Most of the time you can use whatever organic ingredients you happen to have in your refrigerator at the moment. Today, this is what went into mine:

1/2 large cucumber

1 handful dandelion leaves

1 large handful curly kale

1 chard leaf inner stem (leftover from yesterday when I used the leaves – I hate to waste any part of a plant)

2 celery stalks

1 granny smith apple

1/2 large organic tomato

Run everything through the juicer, and when finished, re-run all the pulp through again! You’d be amazed how much more juice you can get by doing this.

Fill up your glass, top it off with a few shakes of himalayan salt, and you’ve got a great way to start your day!
