Energizing Immune-Building Juice of the Day

When I woke up today all I could think about was making a juice that was both tasty and good for the immune system, specifically something to help support my lymphatics. As always, much was dependent on what I actually had in the refrigerator which changes from day to day, but when I got there, a number of things jumped out at me.

I didn’t want a sweet juice, at least not too sweet. So I grabbed what I thought would be a nice blend of vegies with an apple as sweetener. As I was juicing away I had to remind myself that I really do want to get into composting so I tucked that reminder in the back of my head to ask Dr. Tom and Lisa exactly what is involved with composting – they’re the masters in all things natural – they truly do live what they preach. And I simply hate to waste anything, let alone throw good vegetable pulp in the garbage (after giving my dog a healthy serving that is!).

Back to the recipe – I washed, chopped and ran through my Omega juicer:

5 asparagus spears

2 celery stalks

2 carrots

1 handful of green dandelion leaves

1 small beet with leaves

1 granny smith apple

1 handful parsley

1 large handful fresh wheat grass

3 cloves of garlic

1 small tomato

1-inch fresh ginger

This filled a 12-ounce glass, was beautiful to look at, and a delight to drink. A tasty, energetic, glass of pure YUM…

I think it’s working already!
